The Impact of the Digital Economy on Carbon Emissions using the STIRPAT Model

As a new economic factor, digitalization plays vital role in society, economy, and the environment. Based on expanded STIRPAT model, this paper empirically tests impact of digital economy carbon emissions by panel data from 2011 to 2021 BRICS countries. Utilizing variety econometric techniques, study's objectives were met. For instance, unit root properties are investigated using CIPS CADF while cointegration is examined approach Westerlund Edgerton (2008). The findings demonstrate existence long-term correlation between emissions, population, GDP, technical level, economy. We propose that governments must not only implement hedging policies reduce Carbon caused at an early stage but also promote development order accomplish objective global collaborative environmental protection.
